Summary Of Comments:
|
In business since 1851, Morgan Manhattan is literally the oldest moving company in the United States. Started as a horse-and-wagon operation, current president (and fifth-generation descendant of the founding Morgan) Jeff Morgan oversees a fleet of vans, roughly 700,000 square feet of storage in eight tri-state area locations, and a sophisticated web-based tracking and inventory system. Still, what clients highlight most is the service, which they say is impeccable. Crews are described as friendly, on-time, and well-dressed. And considering the fact that Morgan's training process involves a mock apartment setup (which potential employees are required to navigate while lifting delicate, heavy objects), it's perhaps no surprise that its movers are also frequently called "uber-professional." In case of damage, the company has an in-house cabinet shop, meaning that even the slightest scratch can be repaired immediately.
Morgan has a wide range of services available, including storage and inventory control of fine wine collections. Clients tell us they can view their collections online and make notations as to vintage, price, and "best drinking date." Other collections (records, documents, Van Goghs) can be similarly catalogued and viewed online. The company’s Interior Design Services division provides receiving, storage, delivery and installation services to designers. Sources say Morgan’s online system is huge help, allowing designers to track their inventory, view photos and damages, and easily generate reports and delivery orders. Installation services include hanging pictures, installing lighting fixtures, and even vacuuming and making beds.
Morgan handles all local moves directly, with all estimates done in person. For long-distance relocations, the company uses the United Van Lines. The one drawback, sources report, is top-of-the-market pricing. However, those who insist on spotless service continually report that Morgan's white-glove professionalism is well worth the cost.

"Very careful, very seamless, very professional." "The service was impeccable." "I wouldn't trust my valuables to anyone else." "Very personal attention." "I demand the best, and I got white-glove treatment from this company." "I was amazed at the technology used to track my wine collection. My husband is in the computer industry, and even he was completely impressed."
