Company Philosophy
Donald Schermerhorn opened his eponymous design firm in 1994 after having worked for a number of design firms in New York City. He is known for his innovative juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary design concepts, with a witty mix of old and new , - style complemented by a canny sense of scale, a subtle but inventive use of color and a deft hand with details, accessories and art.

Acquired experience and sureness of taste allow Donald to work in any design vernacular, in a vast array of styles, tailored to his clients’ vision.

 
Areas of Expertise / Recent Projects
Current projects include a residence on the Gulf Coast of Florida, a country home in Westchester, a stem to stern renovation in New Jersey , and a Manhattan pied a terre on the 41st floor of a notable building.
