Areas of Expertise / Recent Projects
Two combined apartments in a landmarked building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Working with a young couple with two children, Jane designed this four bedroom, 3500 sq. ft. apartment to have areas for elegant entertaining, a quiet library, as well as a children’s playroom and a more casual family room with deep sofas and a large flat screened TV. The styles blend comfortable seating with 19thcentury English antiques, 1940’s French Art Deco and rustic Asian furniture, all while maintaining the various hues in a color palate of taupe, blues, greens, yellows and rose.

Another combined prewar apartment on East 57th Street for a Manhattan couple, retired, but wanting more space than their previous two bedroom apartment in the same building. Grays, creams, taupe and black provided the neutral background needed to display the exuberance of the clients’ collection of colorful contemporary art. Pillows in various shades of bright pink, peach and soft rose give the needed accents of color. The furniture is a graceful blend of 19th century French, Italian and English styles with touches of Asian pieces. The sofas and chairs are classic and comfortable in down and feather. The kitchen and bathrooms, in white, maintain the fluid clean lines to be elegant yet timeless.

A weekend cottage in Quogue on Long Island. This Manhattan couple has grown children who return often with their friends for weekends near the beach. Keeping the spaces flexible, yet warm and inviting, Jane used 18th and 19th century American antiques, which provided a backdrop for the stylish areas in which friends and family could relax. Florals, geometrics and colorful textures in sage greens, soft yellows, light blues and roses bring an understated elegance to the living spaces.
