Company Philosophy
The New York Academy of Art, a not-for-profit cultural institution, is dedicated to the advancement of figurative art and offers the only MFA program in the U.S. devoted to this study. Through courses in technique, anatomy, perspective, composition and design, students develop an understanding of theoretical and historical underpinnings of art-making and become intellectually and professionally effective as artists.
 
Areas of Expertise / Recent Projects
The Academy extends its mission into the New York City community through a continuing education program, exhibitions and a lecture series featuring prominent artists and scholars from around the world. The exhibitions are also global in extent, showing in recent years the works of young artists from Latin America, India, Iran and Germany upcoming. Every summer, the Academy hosts its juried Summer Exhibition, directly following the annual MFA exhibition. Also of note are the Academy’s famed fundraisers, the Tribeca Ball gala and the annual Take Home a Nude® art auction and party, featuring works by alumni, faculty, students and world-renowned artists.
