FR Review:
The work of Fran Gambino speaks for itself--that and the rapturous praise she has received from thirty years' worth of clients. With an exacting eye and skillful hand, she has developed an impressive arsenal of services and finishes, including murals, trompe l’oeil, marbling, Venetian plasters, two and three step glazes, as well as alligator, ostrich and snake skin finishes. According to clients, there isn’t any surface that Gambino can’t turn into a masterpiece. Her projects range from individual pieces of furniture and small bathrooms to large kitchens, foyers and grand auditoriums. More notably, Gambino was flown to Washington D.C. to handle the restoration work in Georgetown University’s Gaston Hall, a venue renown for speeches by Presidents and foreign dignitaries.
Hers is typically a one-woman operation, Gambino appearing on-site daily, ready to go. For larger scale projects, she calls on a select group of “experienced, dedicated subcontractors” kept abreast and at-the-ready. No job is too big or too small, and her rates range from $5 per square foot to more than $35 per square foot, depending on the finish and the intensity of labor it requires. "She may not be cheap," says one source, "but Fran doesn’t do cheap work either.”
Representative Client Comments:
"Fran is incredibly responsible, organized, talented and thorough." "She is timely, executes well and is very receptive to clients' needs and wishes." "Fran and her crew were extremely clean and courteous throughout the project." "Fran's strengths are her creativeness, color choices and work with textures." "Some of her finishes, like her animal textures, which I have never seen anywhere before, are just amazing."
